I am posting this for a friend.

He wants to know if he should get this 8800gt. Or another one.

Youd be better off with new PSU as Thanatos mentioned OCZ PCP&C even Antec, Thermaltake, Seasonic Corsair something about 500W with good 12v rails...

If you live in the states go the eVGA for lifetimewarranty and step-up,,, If you dont live in the states go for Gigabyte.

I also recommend the EVGA, and in three months the 9800 series should be out - which will hopefully push down 8800GTS 512MB prices and you can Step-Up without to much spending.
