its really hit and miss, i had one.... ur gona make ur chances worse with that board. A gigabyte m57sli-s4 is good for ya money, this config i got 3.25ghz at 1.52v...... but got for intel at the moment mate.. a 2180 and a p35-ds3l with this im running at 3.45ghz at 1.45v.... way better

Vegie is right. You would do a whole lot better with a E2 Intel and a P35 MB. You would also have an upgrade path to 45nm, something that is not certain on AMD at the moment.

I suggest you go with Intel if you are going to overclock. This month's MaximumPC stated the E-2160 ran at 3.37, 85% increase in speed. Not bad for an $80 CPU.

I would rather tell you to get an AMD but Intel is a better buy in most cases today.

ppl said they have got this chip to 2.9 on stock voltage on a worse mother board then the one i posted. So i dont see what is wrong with hat. and ppl said that mobo is good for over clocking.

They are not saying it's a bad chip, just that, at this point building an intel system gets you more performance for the money. And also leaves you with an easy way to upgrade in the future.

So unless you have some irrational attachment to amd, intel should be the way to go.

u will save money in the long run... but if u dont have the cash then go for it, but best in my book for is a 2180 or 2160 with a p35 board, anything below that is a budget hunk of office shiz

I did a lil lookin around, it seems the OP's links won't work for me, but just chaning out the MB and CPU (abit P35 and E2180) was about 32 bucks difference for more OC potential.

Still.. the 4000+ should give the guy decent performance, not the best, and does help AMD a lil money wise... not much.. but some.
