How much money do you have because I think you need a new system! Donate the socket A to a worthy cause.

I had an xp 2500+ in a msi board nforce2 and I could run the FSB at 166 and it ran as a 3200+.

I still have it out in the garage some where in a box.

Read both of these articles and then decide.

How about a setup like this....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813130542

Mobo, 44.99, does newegg ship to canada or not? Either way, tigerdirect has a canadian site. tigerdirect.ca

But mobo is 45

CPU maybe an athlon x2 3600+ for 56

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819103046

Total now is 101 American $$

Memory is 2 gb of ddr2 pc6400

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] +(2+x+1GB)

36.99

Now we are up to 137 american.

Video card, cheap yes, but upgradeable.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814125076

ATI radeon 2400xt with ddr2 memory, should get you by till you can do better.

49.99 American

Total in American $$ is 188 plus shipping. So it might be feasible to upgrade into a newer platform for you. Then you can upgrade other pieces as you go. Because staying with the Barton, you are kind of upgrading into a dead platform.

is a decent PSU at a low price.
Not great, but then again you are looking for a low price.
