I would recommend WD slightly better performance, but you also can't go wrong with Seagate. Although I just read that there 1,5TB aren't doing so well:p

It's the opposite. Seagate 7200.11 performs significantly better than WD Caviar Black.

Other than the small capacity VelociRaptor, WD cannot match Seagate in term of performance. WD is more about reliability and costumer support.
