So I bought 4 GB of ADATA DDR2 800 memory. I can only get the system to boot with 2 GB in slots 1 and 2. If I try to put anything in slots 3 or 4 it continuously reboots, showing the red, red, green, red LED's; this indicates a memory installation problem. All of my memory works. If I put something in slot 1 it will boot fine; I have tried slots 1 and 3, slots 2 and 4, and all slots. My memory is supposed to run at 1.8v. I tried it at that, 1.85v, and 2.0v. I tried running the freq. at 200, 333, and 400. I tried forcing it to run at 5-5-5-18, and letting the BIOS choose the settings. I flashed the CMOS. I upgraded the BIOS to 1.6. Everything is Orthos and Prime95 stable. Please help, as this is really frustrating me.

The slots on this board are colored coded differently than other boards, I don't know if this is part of the problem or not. It is brought up in this review;

Oh great, Ive ordered one of these with 4x1 Gb of ram and just read about its memory problems. However the review says 4x1 gig and 2x2 gig should work, but are limited to a 1:1 divider. Would that work if I plan to use an FSB of 444mhz to get 4 Ghz on my E8400?

Also does anyone know if this motherboard is compatible with the penryn processors out of the box? Scan have offered to pre flash the bios for £10, but I dont need to pay if it will work with the stock bios.

Thanks for any help with this.

Op if your ram doesnt work in slots 1 and 3, maybe theres a problem with the dual channel controller on the motherboard. The colour coding on the ram slots on this board are indeed incorrect, they have used the same colour to highlight the same channel, instead of which slots to install a ram pair into.

I've just bought 4 x 1GB to go with this motherboard, fingers crossed

According to this the E8's need the latest bios to work so I need to pay a tenner to get it preinstalled.

I'm getting two lots of this ram:

So hopefully it will be fine.

Similar problem.

As you have resolved?

Is not activated dual channel, as if the orange slots didn't work.

Also with a only memory on the orange slot, it doesn't effect the boot!
Orange slot breakdowns?

I must send RMA? :(

P.S. you excuse for my English.
