On the stock heatsink and with arctic silver 5, my temps are (well they change so I'll give the range)

system: 35 c
cpu: 27 c
aux: -13 c
core 0: 49 - 60 c
core 1: 49 - 60 c
core 2: 48 - 60 c
core 3: 50 - 70 c

the temperatures are read by speedfan

am i running to hot? or is this normal? and I'm thinking of buying a zalman 9500, I'm guessing this will help?

and why is core 3 running so hot >.<

I JUST SAW ALL THE CORES RISE AT LEAST 10 C IN TEMP, BRINGING CORE 3 TO 70 C!!! I SHOT DOWN THE COMPUTER IMMEDIATELY.

I HAVE AN ANTEC 900, 5 FANS RUNNING IN THE CASE.

I did not overclock the chip - something isn't right.

Your temps are fine... in fact they are great... well they are great if you have an overclock. Are you overclocking the chip?

Typically the core temps will vary depending on the chip. The 3rd core could be hotter for a number of reasons. The sensor might not be calibrated the same as the others, or you might have some sort of concave on the stock heat sink preventing that core from making as good a contact as the others. IDK... that's all just speculation and a theory of mine. Maybe someone else can enlighten us.

Anyhow... Anything below 60C isn't worth being concerned over... Anything in the upper 60's you should keep an eye on.

umm ok ill try to answer those questios

1) intel q6600 quadcore @2.4

2) g0

3) load testing? im just testing temperatures with speedfan (temperatures I listed are when the computer is idle, btw)

4) my room temp is 75 F

5) stock frequency

6) don't the vcore

7) not sure how to tell if they are running 100% rpm (two fans are med setting, three fans are low setting)

8) case covers are on

speedfan is version 4.34

oooh.....i think thats what happened!!!

thanks so much =D

well, it happened because I hate intel heatsinks. They are a pain to install, i thought i was going to snap the mobo in half lol

Oh well, ill just wait for the zalman 9500 and play super smash brothers brawl

So what do you make of this... Havent really tested much of my temps since it's been hot. It's about 68F in the house right now.

Running 4.05ghz small FFT's and CPUID hardware monitor, core temp .99 and Speedfan version 4.33 (old but who cares) all read CPU as 58C and core 0 and 1 both are at 64C. Is this good??? I'll let it cool down for a minute before recording idle temps-

Alright: 39-40C idle CPUTIN and on core 0 and 1 temps are 48C. What do you make of all that???

Thanks! I'm running a TRUE both cpu and hsf are lapped with AS5.
