Hi all, i'm new to the forumn ... really awesome info/neat forumn!

This is my situation i want to upgrade my cpu/processor, this is what i have:

PROCESSOR:
Type : Intel Pentium 4 1600 MHz
Processors Bus Speed : 400 MHz

MOTHERBOARD:
Manufacturer : ECS
Model : P4S5A Rev. 1.0
CPU Slot/Socket Type : Socket 478 mPGA
Chipset Vendor : SiS 645 Rev. 00
Bios Manufacturer : American Megatrends Inc.
Bios Version : 07.00T

MEMORY:
Total RAM Installed : 1024 MB
Type : SDRAM Not Available PC133
Used RAM Slots: 2 of 1024

This is what i bought and want to install:

Intel Pentium 4 Processor SL7E2 P4 CPU 2.8GHz 1M/533

I just recently downloaded my motherboard manual it says:

'This mainboard has a Socket-478 processor socket for intel pentium 4 type processors supporting front side bus (FSB) speeds up to 400 MHz. The mainboard uses the XP4 chipset which supports built-in AC97 Codec, 2 DDR + 2SDR modules up to 2GB system memory, and provides Ultra DMA 33/66/100 function.'

Will the 2.8GHz 1M/533 CPU work on this motherboard? i did the online/web 'inspecs' of my system and it said this was a compatible upgrade ... but after reading from the motherboard manual i'm not so sure?

thAnX guys, sincerely the rookie ... ;)
