Hello,
I put 2 x 1gb memory boards where there was one 256 board and it has corrupted the windows startup. I have managed to get the following message in white on a blue screen
STOP:c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum} the image iertutil is possibly corrupt.
I have a Windows 98 disk but not the XP as that was pre-loaded when I bought this newer machine.
Can anyone help?

Did you remove the new RAM and re-install the old RAM? Did it work? Many older motherboards cannot support more than 512MB of RAM, some MAY be able to do so if there is a BIOS update available from the motherboard mfr.
