Damage?

ok so i was using my computer for about 10 mins when the fan started to go faster i turned it off because i didnt know why this was happening so i go into the computer to see if i could find something wrong with the fan but instead i see the heat sink isnt contacting the processor could i have caused any real damage





p.s. the processor is a pentium 4 2.8ghz oc'd to 3.2 with HyperThreading

You may have... P4s run hot, especially when OC'd.

Reseat it with new thermal paste and try again if it works no harm done.
