hello,
i have a big problem, i'm trying to build on asus extreme striker an array raid 0 (with two SAS36gb of seagate 15.4)
controler adaptec 3405. and two WD3200YS (western digital) on raid 0 from the on board controler.

it's working with 4GB of corsair XMS2 - 6400 800MHz (ver 2.1)

Vista 64bit home premium.

now a few problems along the way,

first it's haveing problem with 4GB and i don't know why.

it's also have problem to locate and id the raid arrey 0 of the SAS drives.

i've tried to update the bios from asus.com (don't remember the ver, maybe 7.13 - but anyway it's the newest)

and it seems that i turn on the sys there is a CMOS checksum error, which leads me to a place where i canot do anything at all not even go into the bios!!!

the sys right now is dead.

i tried to reset the bios with the clr CMOS but it didn't work, and i've been told that i have to take the battery off and unplug the power for an hour and than it'll reset the bios, but it didn't help!!!

i am still stuck in the position where i canot go into the bios meanning i canot do anything at all.

one more thing i've been told by a representative of asus is that if nothing works i sould get a new bios chip and replace the one i have right now.
is it possible?? where is that chip located? and how do i remove it?
it seems odd that one upgrade of bios software will shut everything down like that.

what am i doing wrong?

i'm in israel right now, and i bought the mobo in the us, meanning the chip issue is going to be hell to arrage and ship and so forth.

i need help desperatly!

i'll appreciate any kind of help, hopfully detailed cause i don't know everything about this mobo.

thanks alot,

Shachar.
