In a situation here. I am currently running a intell MB with 4 gig memory running Winxp Pro 64bit. My current cpu is a P4 D940 3.2 presler with a ATI x1650 pro 256 Gddr3 PciE card.

The mb can handle duo core even quad.

My situation is this.

I am looking for the best bang for the buck upgrade to do. I dont overclock and never will. I do alot of gaming like EQ2, EQ, counter strike, crysis, COD, etc etc. PC is also used for Maya and studio max.

Do I leave the processor and upgrade the video card or just add another X1650 pro and run crossfire.

Do I leave the video card and up-grade the processor to a duo or quad. I know the quad will help in maya and studio max but I dont want that as the only reason to go that route.

Is it worth it to crossfire or just buy a higher model card. I say this because I was looking to run 2-HD2600 XT in crossfire or just get 1 3850/3870. I can get the 2600's dirt cheap.

Any response is a good response.

You are in an enviable position.

I'd go Q6600, and grab a 8800GT.

Good luck!

Oops, forgot to mention: If you get a Q6600, you will probably end up doing a mild OC. People are getting amazing results with the latest stepping.

One high end GPU is better than 2 midrange. The CPU upgrade is something you have to decide for your self if you are still happy with the performance why upgrade you would though get a great boost with upgrading GPU to HD3850/70

The better performance gain would be by upgrading your Graphics card. The new ATI 3850 cards look really impressive and priced reasonable to.

I hope this helps :)
