Just restored my laptop to factory settings. Do I go straight to SP3?

I just restored my Sony VGN-T150 (c2005) to factory Windows XP settings using the restore DVD. Should I now let Microsoft plow through the numerous patches and updates (there are many since 2005) or should I go to the Microsoft website and actively install Windows XP SP3?

No, you need to go to SP2 and then SP3.
