Rome total war problems

Hello,
I hade rome installed on my pc but havent went near it in a little while.Cleaned it the other day and set it up.I had to install rome again but i bought a new disc because my other rome game was missing.I have it installed but when i click to play it it has...you need directx9 to play...so iv downloaded and installed it and same thing keeps coming up...HELP!!!!!!!!!!

You never said what "same thing " is. Describe the problem with ALL the details.
Uninstall the video drivers and reinstall them, including direct X? Hope you have the driver disks.
