My graphics card broke and I am looking to purchase another one. I am not a gamer and I need a good graphics card to watch hd content. I have an Acer AL2216WBD monitor .

My computer has an available AGP8x slot and available PCI slots. I am not sure how good of a graphics card I need and am looking to spend less than $100.

Thanks

you should look for a 2400/2600 series card in AGP flavor for HD playback, preferrably passive cooling i'm sure.

this would be the lowest i would go, you really dont NEED gddr3 or more than 256mb ram, but it would come in handy if you want to try out any new games sometime.

i couldn't find any passive 2000 series cards on newegg for AGP, youll need to look around.

You sure its the video card that is dead? As for new card - anything thats ATi or Nvidia will do.

I think the 2600Pro would be just fine.
