Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some real help. I have a M2N32 Sli Deluxe WE MB and the temps run about 37-39C on the MB, and 49-51C on the CPU idle; then 42-46C MB, and 62-68C CPU(depending on the game) full load. I to me this is to hot. I am looking for a new CPU cooler and I am worried about the space since it doesn't seem to allow much on this MB. I can't seem to find anyone's personal experience on this MB and CPU coolers, only "I heard...blah." Here are my spec's:

M2N32 Sli Deluxe WE
AMD 6000+ BE
2GB Corsair XMS2 6400
...and about 5.5" of space between the MB and the case because of case fans.

I was looking at these coolers and am unsure because of the mixed reviews I am reading.

If anyone can help me, please, I am at a stand still.

Those temps are not far off the mark for that cpu.As for the chipset, that's around the same temps I get and I've yet to have issues.I wonder, did you by chance install that extra cooler that comes with the board???If you did and you are not using watercooling, that will be the cause of the higher temps on the cpu.The extra fan is only to be used when using watercooling.Otherwise it interferes with the airflow for the cpu fan, thereby causing insufficient cooling.I have the exact same MB and a similar cpu(5600+@2.8) and I just built a friend a system with the same board just a few months ago.All my experience with this board has been good so far.Let me know about that extra fan.If you did install it,remove it as it's designed for use with water cooling. But just to let you know, that cpu of yours does run quite hot anyways. It's the main reason I opted for the next one down.Goodluck.

The MB temps sound fine, the CPU idle and load a definitely warm.

I have an AM2 6000+ sitting on a stock cooler and it doesnt get anywhere near that hot. Before you replace your cooling solution, are you certain the heatsink itself is making sufficient contact with the IHS surface?

Yes, I even reseated it because I thought that might be the case. BTW, the 6000+ BE never came with a stock HS... not sure what you are refering to as "stock." Currently I have the stock HS from a 4000+ CPU.

That stock heatsink from the 4000+ is your problem. It was never designed to dissipate the amount of heat coming off that cpu.It was designed for something that runs quite a bit cooler.Get an aftermarket FAN and HEATSINK,one that will handle the temps that 6000+ throws off.Goodluck.

Hmm... maybe you should have read the part where I asked people what they were using on the same MB. I already knew it wasn't meant for the 6000+ since there is no stock HS for the 6000+. Thanks for playing!

Anywho; out of teh CPU coolers you listed, I might take the Zalman...

In all honesty though; had I a choice, I would go with neither of them.

The blue orb is a decent setup, but the design (much like the Zalman 7700) didnt really impress me. My preference on air now is the TT Typhoon VX...

I have an artic cooler freezer pro on my m2n32sli and it fit rather snuggly but does a brilliant job of keeping my cpu at 28 idle and 48 underload, i also have the additional northbridge fan attatched and i dont have water cooling and it works brilliantly. I have my freezer pro oriented to the rear and it expels air through the northbridge fan and out through my rear case fan. My mobo temps are 32 idle and 46 load and my cpu is over clocked form 2.4 to 2.8 ghz.

Sounds like the other guys is just reading from the manual to me.

Im interested in how well you 8800gt works with this mobo as i intend to get two 8800gt's to replace my 2 7600gt's but was concerned that the motherboard isnt a pcie 2.0 mobo.

cheers

Thanks, I just bought the AC freezer pro. Atleast your answer seems to have some thought to it. Unfortunately, I only have 2 7800 GT cards... I think Dahak is the one with the 8800's.

Have you fitted the freezer pro.

I found it was best to remove the motherboard as i tried to fit mine in the case to start with and after about 45 minutes of swearing i gave in and removed the mobo and managed to fit it in about 5 mins. Scarey stuff though as i found i had to put quite a lot of pressure on the lever to fit it. I also had to bend the lowest fin ever so slightly to get it in but that was because i changed the orientation of the fan as i mentioned earlier.

Im thinking of upgrading from my 4600+ to the 6000+ but i would like the 89w energy efficient version as it should keep the temps down.

Yes, just put it on... I did have to bend the lowest fin because of the memory... but it all works thanks.
