Hi

I tried installing 4x1GB trancend CL4 DDr2-800 memory modules on my PC running XP SP2.

At first the system would not boot thru completely - go halfway thru windows boot, then wuld reboot.

I did a BIOS update, and then it boot through, but games crash to desktop.

I tried playing with memory speeds in BIos because I got errors running memtest86, and another forum suggested these errors could be caused by incorrect voltages - the trancends want's 1.8v

Now, after upping the memory speed to 1066MHz instead of 800, the PC won't boot at all - no display whatsoever on monitor.

I tried recovering bios, and removing battery, but it will not boot at all.

Can anyone help me with getting the PC to boot again, and then to solve the game crashes?

Hi Shadow

Thanks for the reply

I cannot set any voltages on this motherboard, hence the reaon I tried to simply up the clockspeeds in the hope that it would also increase voltage accordingly - but that is where I am stuck - no boot at all - so I cannot access BIOs or do anything - basically a dead PC with turning fans....
