Radeon 2X00 Series AGP driver problems?

I see reviews saying any of the Radeon 2X00 series AGP cards are unable to use any updated drivers because ATI doesn't officially support 2X00 AGP made by 3rd partys. Is this still the case?

  1. ive heard such things. as a result i've decided to avoid the series altogether. the X1950 pro would make a better card anyway.
  2. Well I'm looking for something around $100 and a 2600 XT would be perfect if it works right.
  3. Have you tried third party drivers then ?
Follow the link and scroll down a bit you will see that the omega drivers will work with AGP cards.

perhaps its posible to force driver installs over it so to use newer driver sets? AGP is dead anyhow.
