Hey. I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice over the past two months as I spec'd my new system. I just wanted to list my final build that I just ordered not more than 2 hours ago. I hope that it will be here by the 26th so I can start building. Let me know what you guys (gals) think.

I am very excited to OC this baby and boot up Crysis and BioShock. I know there are some people that are going to disagree with the Raptors and my early adoption of the 780i, but I guess sometimes time you have to take a chance (780i) and be immune to loud drives (Raptors). Ha ha. Thanks again guys.

I purchased from Tankguys (Q6600), Tigerdirect (780i) and the rest was from NewEgg. Grand total it was $3,594.76 which includes S&H and the Monitor. The monitor was $999.99 ($969.99 and $30 dollars in S&H). I still have another 70 dollars in rebates coming my way once I send them in. I plan to use that towards a sound card. I just haven't figured out which card to get and Vista not playing nice with Vista has really thrown me through a loop.

almost everyone seems to be charging $298 now for the Q6600 G0 stepping CPU. Did you get a special discount or did you pay $298 at Tankguys?

for the moment though, it is still $258 for the OEM Q6600 GO, and $273 for the Retail Q6600 GO (the retail comes with the stock HS) at clubit.com.

If you can wait until Jan 8th though, the replacement for the Q6600, the next generation 45 nm Q9300, will be available for $270:

The Core 2 Quad Q9300 processor also comes with faster FSB 1333MHz and we believe that it should end up significantly faster than the current sweet spot Q6600.

That case looks very nice - can you tell us after you build it if the enermax power supply and thermalright ultra-120 fit in it OK?

I hope that they do. Measurement wise they should, but we all know that what works mathematically does not always work when you finally get your parts.
