Sorry, I'm rather confused here. Tom's 2007 CPU charts show the 8800 GT OC, but not the 8800 GT which seems so popular. The 8800 GT is also listed as Tom's best holiday buy 2007 for a PCI-E card @ $290. Is the 8800 GT OC just an overclocked version of the 8800 GT? If so, is it better to just buy a 8800 GT and overclock it to get those amazing benchmark scores? Or is there something superior about the 8800 GT OC that makes it perform that well?
Put it this way, I can get a Galaxy 8800 GT 512mb for $230, or I can get a BFG 8800 GT OC for $255 from the same supplier. Which should I get, and why?
Sorry, I have spent hours poring over charts and reviews trying to make sense of the video card market and it's driving me friggin' bonkers.
the regular should do fine. idk why thg put up the OC maybe it was the only sample they had...but idk about the galaxy brand...so ask around about that brand first. BFG is a very good card.
Get an eVGA/Gigabyte/XFX card, better brands, all overclockable. Don't pay a premium for an O/C card unles it comes with something else you want. The Gigabyte 8800GT has a Zalman fan ...
