I'm about to start looking into OC'ing my 8800GTS 512, but ran into an interesting problem; I get insanely low results running it right after installation. So I came here looking for what people generally use for default settings when posting their settings... there has to be some type of "standard" before posting your numbers, because getting 13000 running at 1024x764 and another getting 11000 running at 1280x1024 are two completely different things! So, after searching a bit (I'm not a patient man when it comes to finding what i'm looking for) I just decided to outright ask.

Are there any standard settings that everybody use when posting their results?

And by extremely low, I mean 4577 low... I've seen people with over 12000 with rigs slower than mine in some posts. I can run AoC with high settings + AA8xQ and get 45-50FPS everywhere I look (extreme view distance), I can run the new EvE Premium content on max settings and get insane FPS (I can't remember exactly, and I know EvE is far from being a good benchmark, but my older rig couldn't even run Premium and it wasn't THAT old), I run The Witcher full settings with no slowdowns, so seeing 3dMark06 running at 5-6FPS is definitely out of whack...

Rig:
E8400 @ 3.6GHz (37C full load under RealTemp)
4GB 4-4-4-12 Patriot Extreme
BFG 8800GTS OC (g92, factory OC'ed, want to see if I can get some more)
Asus P5K-E
150GB Raptor HDs

I've seen posts from people with low 3.2GHz's & same card, not overclocked pushing the 12000k results.

So yeah, any help on this would be great... thanks!

For 3dMark06 the stock settings are 1280x1024 and AA/AF.

You might want to check in the Nvidia Panel and make sure everything is set to application choice instead of forcing it to do AA/AF.

That's 1280x1024 with no aa/af.

It may either be driver or power supply problem. Try reinstalling driver. And what's your psu's wattage and 12v rail(s) rating?

For reference, I get just above 15k on 8800gts @780mhz, with q6600@3.6ghz.
