Hi,

I am coming up against the perennial 'No driver for your DVD drive' issue when trying to install Windows 7 by booting from a USB stick to install. I have Windows XP on this machine and want to do a clean install. I am aware that the SATA i/o is probably causing the problem, however I've tried almost every permutation of different drives connected to different SATA ports and different bits of the SATA i/o (the board has 2 SATA sockets on the Southbridge and 4 on the Silicon Image additional chip set).

Any advice would be gratefully received, as I'm about ready to throw the machine out the window having spent the last 12 hours trying to get it to work.

Abit went out of business in 2006.

What makes you think they support Windows 7??

Are you trying to install 32bit or 64bit OS?

You could try finding out what the chipset is and downloading a driver from the chipset makers website.
