1) No idea on ram. Is the stuff i chose fine or would anyone suggest something different?
2) I am also very concerned about the monitor I chose. Could anyone help me out on that
3) Not sure on the compatibility of the sound card and vista because i heard some bad things
4) Not sure on case yet, i want something with a nice clear open side panel like the thermaltake armor except i know someone who has it and the thing overheats like mad... only after 11 fans is everything running nice and cool- the 8800 ultra was at 90 idle now its at 60. So really i have no idea on a case
*by the way my total price limit is $2500 including tax which is 13% i believe here in Canada B.C.
*also do i go with Vista 64 or not??? if i go with 64 bit im going to get 4 gigs of ram so i need to make sure the motherboard is fine with that along with the type of ram i chose
Lets start with the mobo, the Asus P5E X38 with two full speed PCI-E 2.0 slots is the only way to go. Better Ram yes there is, Crucial's Ballistix DDR2 800 or 1066. Next the sound card, you could get the X-Fi ExtremeGamer Fatality Prp for 135.99 at NewEgg. If you want a badass PC case, you know the last one you'll even buy the Silverstone TJ09 289.99 NewEgg.
I love the case fans you selected, I'm buying three more come payday. Notice the two 120mm fan brackets in the top rear end of case, thats three 120mm S-Flex fans sucking air out the back of the case. Also notice the 120mm fan right in front of where your 8800GTX would be, yeah baby! The Silverstone TJ09 is one of two PC cases that NVidia certified for Tri SLI.
