My first system build and im on a tight budget. I know a little bit about computer building just not enough to build my own yet. i really not a hardcore game considering i have a xbox 360 and i want to use it to play pc exclusive games like crysis at a study framerate my monitor is a gateway 22in 1680 x 1050p i got a lot of suggestion and i only shop at tigerdirect so all help and suggesions will be appreciated

You don't need the rest. They're frills. The only thing I wouldn't touch on your list is the power supplies. The only one I'd buy from TD is Corsair PSU:

 

Corsair / VX450W / 450-Watt / ATX / 120mm Fan / SATA-Ready / Power Supply $79.99

 

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX Power Supply - SLI-Ready, SATA-Ready $99.99

 

The stock quad 8800gt needs about 450w. If you don't overclock, you can get by with the VX450W.

 

The Intel X38 board is a fine board. It's a bit more future-proof than 680i which doesn't do 45nm Yorkfield yet, probably ever. The X38 does everything from 45nm cpu's to pci-e 2.0. The only downside is that board lacks PS/2 mouse & keyboard ports if that matters. It seems a lot of Intel boards lack those, but not 3rd-party boards like Gigabyte, etc.

 

The XFX 680i with Q6600 is a steal. The cpu alone is about $260. The board alone is $200+. It's not a bad chipset. You can throw in an another 8800gt if it needs more gpu power. Can't do that on Intel boards. But you'll need a more powerful psu for SLI.

thank you i have purchased the 680 and q6660 amd i have to wait to get the 8800 so i bought the 8600 xxx i got the light on and the ultra grid so thanks for the help i appreiciate it
