I reciently downloaded a free copy of Quicktime 6.5.2 for windows and for
some reason it starts up every time I boot the computer. I'd like to stop it
from automatically starting every time I trun on my computer. Any ideas?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Apple, launching programs in the
background, stealing file associations and lots of other fun.

OK let's get down to business.

Go to Start
-> Run
--> Type msconfig and hit enter
---> Click the startup tab, Quicktime's background application is qttask, so
uncheck that and hit enter.

Have a look in Start -> All Programs -> Startup to (delete it if it's there
too).

That *should* sort it.

Open Quicktime and look for a place to set Options or Preferences. There
should be a place here that you can remove a check from a box that tells
Quicktime to start when you start your computer.

Thank you Paul and Patty. I ran the msconfig program and there it was. And
I also found another Apple program called Itunes Helper that I didn't know
was there. So I unchecked them both and that fixed it.
