LAG SPIKES major problems, with home built PC

i need help! my home made pc works good until a few weeks ago when i started getting lag spikes, and these spikes normally wipe me out of World of warcraft and in most cases i have to reboot my computer i need help!
my pc got:

Intel(R)Pentium 4 CPU 3,00GHz 3,00GHZ, 1,00 GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce 6600 and is running windows XP.

plz help me solve this problem.

Make sure you have no other programs using bandwidth open. Make sure nothing is downloading or uploading at the time. This is just a sugestion because your discription is vague.

i have none of those things open world of warcraft is the only thing running..

You need to check your internet connection first. Have you tried other non-internet games? Do they lag?

Go to http://www.speedtest.net/index.php

See if you have a good connection.

my connection is fine but i havent checked other games cause its the only one on my pc atm but ill reply when i try anoter game then
