Recently built new system, installed thermal take purepower600w power supply, OCZ ddr2 pc6400 dual memory, intel core 2 duo 2.33, 8800 gt oc, as well as an abit i35 pro which proceeds to indicate the C1 error whenever I turn the computer on. I'm using an older hard drive at the moment.

Straight from the manual - C1 : Detect memory
-Auto detection of DRAM size, type and ECC
- Auto detection of L2 cache (socket 7 or below)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Same thing happened to me when i built my system with Abit IP35 Pro, try using only 1 stick of Ram first, it should boot up. Then go into bios and change the Ram voltage and settings to match ur memories' settings and voltage.

thanks for responses, after removing one stick i received varying results, I did notice I no longer had error beeps but still could not boot up. New error messages from ip35 were 00 and 11, both not listed in manual, however after a few tries of switching around my 1 stick in various slots the error then read c5 - call chipset hook to copy Bios back to E000 & F000 shadow RAM
