Which Windows supports over 256 meg of ram. I heard that windows 98 doesn't but does SE or ME support it? i'm looking to upgrade my windows but i want one that will support over 256meg of ram. I've also heard that windows 2000 does support over that amount but i'm not looking to spend 150+ on windows yet.

Yeah, you'll run into problems with more than 512, but you can work around them. Basically, you crank your vcache down to the normal 65meg instead of the screwy setting of 512meg.

All Windows 9x and ME support up to 768MB of RAM.
Adding more the OS will not boot and will say that there is not enough memory to load Windows ???? :)
All NT Windows encluding XP Personal Edition support up to 4GB of RAM.
I had WinME with 512MB for about 10 months and had no problems with it.
So I quess as long as you don't install more than 768MB then you won't have any problems with it.
