I have an Antec Neopower 650 Blue and when I plug it in and flip the switch nothing happens. I tried connecting it to fans and even an old mobo and flipped the switch and get nothing. The blue light and fan dont come on and nothing happens. Is it dead?
So I need to plug the 24 pin connector into the mobo and turn the power on on the motherboard? What do I look for? I dont haev the manual for this board anymore its an old junker. Are you taklinga bout hooking the wire up to the motherboard that is connected to the switch on the front of the case?
yes, you connect the PSU to the board(and turn its switch on) and short the PW_SW(or similar) on the board.
What is this PSU for? a new system or this old junker? Some old boards may not work with new psu's.
I tried to fire up a celeron 266(Now thats old junk ) with a new psu and it would go on but not post. a cheap psu worked fine....something to do with the -5 and -12 not being on all new psu's or something...

Well this is for my new system, Im holding off buying my mobo and processor until Yorkfield comes out just to see what is in my sweet spot now $250-300. I will most likely go with the Q6600 if the new Yorkfields require DDR3.
I tried it on I believe a Socket 754 mobo...is that an Athlon XP socket? I think so...either way it is probably about 4 years old. It seems like it would be compatible.
The only reason i did not suggest hotwiring in this case is that some PSU's have a minimum load they need to run so they will just shut off....that would make the PSU look dead when its not.....
