I have a GTS 512 in the way and on EVGA's site theys state that they recommend a "Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 26 Amp Amps."

Now I have a Thermaltake Toughpower 700w power supply that has 4 12v rails I think with 18amps on each.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowI...ription=Thermaltake+W0106RU+700W+Power+Supply

Now Is evga saying that you if your powersupply only has one rail that It needs to support 26amps? Or is a dedicated rail to the GPU of 18amps sufficient?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You actually have a 56A max across all four rails, you can't just add them together to get the max value of the power supply. You should be fine with that card.

i am running my asus 8800gts 512 on a corsair HX620

Could it be this one, with a e6600 OC'd w/a single 8800gtx on a 380w PSU?
8800gtx on 380w PSU!

I have the TOUGHPOWER 850WATT PSU with 62amps on the combined 12v rails and it works beautifully.Your 700watt will handle what you have 3 times over,so no worries.Goodluck.

I have an Antec True Control II 550 PSU, with two +12V rails of 19A each. I beleave it is OK for my new NX8800GT video card, BUT: I´d like to know if I can use the dedicated PCI express power connector from my PSU or should I use the two-molex-to-PCI-express adapter included with the card in order to combine both rails. Could anyone set this straight to me?

hrm. I think you will be fine, use the pci express power connector.

I'm using a Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC ATX 430W with 18amps on the 12V for my overclocked BFG 8800GTS 512mb. Rest of the system:
Amd x2 4800 939
2X512mb ddr
2 hdds
tv tuner
x-fi sound card
dvd

No stuttering, no freezing. The thing barely gets warm. In general I think people get too worked up about power requirements.
