Greetings all on the list. I am looking for a PDA released prior to
October 1993 that had sync capability and also featured any form of a
thumbwheel to either adjust contrast or was used for menu selection.

I have at least a dozen of these, Pilot 1000 and Pilot 5000 units.

Considering that the Pilot 1000 and 5000 were released in March, 1996, well -
no you don't.

The Apple Newton Messagepad intro'ed in August of 1993. I know it did sync,
but offhand I can't remember how the LCD contrast was handled (I think it was a
thumbwheel, but I'm not 100% certain on that).

Yes the M100 did meet all of the criteria however I'm looking for additional
examples.
Thanks all who have posted

Do you include the Casio (and others) with 32/64/128K of memory, 3 coin cell
batteries, serial sync, a keyboard, and a contrast wheel?

Hi,
Does a Tandy / Casio Zoomer PDA fit in this discussion?
It ran the Geoworks OS.

The old Casio SP4000 series had a contrast wheel. You can still find
them on ebay for under $10.

Yep, Casio SP4000/6000/8000 models.
I still have my old SP4000 and it works great. I keep it as a novelty
since I got a PalmV back in 1999 and now have a Zodiac.

Looking for items that match a patent dispute claiming to have invented such
a device in 1993. We all know that is a crock so I am acquiring some of
these toys to show "prior art" does exist.
Thanks guys and gals
the Casio SF-7500 is a good fit and I have two. Still looking though for the
FA-120 Travelling Software PC sync cable and DOS software if anyone has
same.
