click my computer
click control panel
click display
click screen saver tab
click monitor power "power" bar
set turn off monitor to never, set system standby to never
click apply, click OK
click hibernate tab
un check enable hibernation box
click apply, click OK
there are bugs in XP which prevent the system from coming back online after it goes into standby, after hibernation, after the monitor turns off. Disable these functions and you should be looking pretty good.
