i am an intern tech, and for some reason this unit frezes during a reload of vista basic, motherboard appears to be fine and hardware has been tested with diagnostics and passed, ??? not sure what the problem is wondering about specific troubleshooting to look for to this brand motherboard icl50 acer aspire model 5315, help ???????

Try a replacement motherboard. I had a workstation that would lock up soon at tried to start any Windows I installed on it right at the first startup screen. Replaced drive, ran diagnostic tools, all was good. HP sent out a tech to replace the motherboard, worked after that.
