Okay,

So i just upgraded vista 32 to vista 64 and whilst doing this i removed all the partitions on my harddrive. I then made a 100Gb OS partition and a 900Gb storage partition.

The thing is, when i go into my computer, I can only see the OS partition.
What have I done wrong? Something tells me fixing this will involve reinstalling windows, which is fine but I'd like to get an answer form somehow who knows a bit more about this than I.

Thanks.

Bit of an update,

Using discmanagement in windows i found that the major part of the harddrive was simply unused or not activated. So I managed to activate it and it started the formatting process. At about 10% in the whole computer froze and after no response for an hour i pulled the plug. ( I know it's a bad thing to do ).

Now the mobo is making a different beeping sound on bootup that i have never heard before and i can't even get into the bios let alone into windows.

Have i destroyed my harddrive? and is it fixable?

Those beeps are POST (Powered On Self Test) codes. They typically tell you about hardware failures that keep your computer from booting.

First thing is find out what the beep combo is Example 1 long 2 short repeated?

1 short constant beep is universally bad RAM.

Im willing to bet its your HDD though.
