Audio issues with Antec 900 plugs

This is pretty specific:

The Antec 900 comes with an HD Audio connector and AC'97 connector for the front panel ports. I'm assuming this means you use one or the other for the FP-AUDIO1 connector on the motherboard right? What's the difference between HD Audio and AC'97?

What board do you have?
The manual should tell you what to use.
HD Audio is better, but it needs a compatible motherboard

My mobo will do both but HD Audio is the default and like you said...better.
