hi guys,
Few months back i logged on dis site (though dis site has been amazing source of reference for long time) and got tremendously positive feedback which wer extremely helpful.

I have been planning to build (its a budget build rig) a system which will be commonly used for multitasking and 3d applications OOHH... and a "lil bit" for gaming ;)

But the main objective is MULTITASKING, PHOTO REALISTIC 3D RENDERING, other 3D APPLICATIONS to work with..... and am not a heavy gamer..but expect good detail though :p

So my actual ques... is dat "What really matters NUMBERS OF CORES or SPEEDY GHz wen it comes to perform above mentioned tasks"? CPU dat am confused between is

fx-8120@3.1/4.0 GHz and fx-6200@3.8/4.1 GHz... I know i will be suggested with other better option like "INTEL etc..blah blah" :kaola:

but its a budget building rig so plz :non: and my dis pc is gonna

AGAIN..the main question is "What really matters NUMBERS OF CORES or SPEEDY GHz wen it comes to MULTITASKING, PHOTO REALISTIC 3D RENDERING, operating other 3D APPLICATIONS and RENDER ENGINES"?

really expect full proof feedback.....HELP :sarcastic:

thx in advance guys..

I would say get the 8120. Also those are easy to do a mild overclock on. just set up the bios to mimick the 8150 and 90% of the time it will run without even touching the voltage or any other settings.

end story, you get the best of both, speed and cores for the price of the 8120.

Well, if it utilizes the cpu 100%, then theoretical performance can be based on overall cpu speed.

IE 3.8 ghz X6 cores = 22.8 score
or 3.1 ghz X8 cores = 24.8 score
or 3.8 ghz x8 cores = 30.4 score

Not calling it ghz because thats not accurate. It all depends on how well the program utilizes separate cores or how well it responds to raw speed. For the most if you do not overclock at all, in theory they sould be really close in performance. but overclocked to 6100 speed, the 8 core will tear the 6 core apart.
