problem switching syncing from Palm Desktop to Outlook

I’m having a problem changing from sync’ing to the Palm Desktop to
sync’ing to MS Outlook 2000 on a Palm Tungston T2.

I’ve been able to hotsync without problem to the Palm Desktop, but I
must begin using MS Outlook. I attempted to re-install Palm software.
Using the Palm installation CD, I removed the Palm software and then
re-installed it, selecting the option to sync to MS Outlook. The
installation process took me to the first sync, which seemed to proceed
normally at first. It completed only part of the sync with the Contacts
and then gave me an error message. The dialog box was titled “Server
Busy.” In the box it said something to the effect that ‘The other
program is busy. Switch to the other program to correct the error.”
Before starting, I had stopped as many other programs as I could,
including background programs like Norton Anti-Virus. There didn’t
seem to be any other programs running, unless the error message is
referring to MS Outlook.

The computer doesn’t freeze, but the hotsync seems to hang (it stops
making progress.) Terminating the program though control-alt-delete was
the only thing that worked. Then I rebooted. When I do that I get an
error message that MS Outlook 2000 is not responding.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled PocketMirror. I have run the repair
program which came with MS Outlook 2000, but the same thing happens.

Running Windows XP-Home Edition.


Any clue for me?

Thanks. Unfortunately, my Outlook was closed when I began the sync.
Apparently, the conduit to Outlook opened, at least, some part of it to
receive the data.


But I appreciate the suggestion.
