Not sure what cables to buy. I have a 1080p samsung 40" lcd <8ms refresh time and a good contrast like 10000:1 or something (tough to tell with out an industry standard) works great with my geforce 6800 ultra but i am using my VGA cable to connect. I can use HDMI cables, svideo, dual dvi, hdmi that connects throughred and white wires, or a vga cable! I am getting 2x GTS 8800 515MB (tough choice between the 8800 GT i know, but i wanted to try out these)
When i do get the right cables should i be using different drivers or some kind of setting for wide screen ? (seems to freak out when i try to play games but doom runs fine) any tips with this?
Where do you guys go for your graphics card reviews and benchmarks been googling it but it is not too efficient
None of the 8800GTS cards have an HDMI connector or the facility to provide sound to an adapter, that I know of. You can use a DVI to HDMI cable. It will not carry sound. HDMI on video cards may not really ever be common as now the damn Display Port seems to be gathering most attention. Just what we need another 6 month standard!
i agree with him hence why it is a video card not a sound card but ny way a standard vga cable can produce up to a 1080i signal if you need better than that both hdmi and dvi will do fine i dont belive that the 8800 have hdmi support but you can always get a dvi to hdmi cable
