HELP! dell studio xps 16 vista 32 ataport.SYS error

FOR a weeks I have been experiencing the same BSOD
Using Nirsoft Blue Screen View I was able to get this from the .dmp

how can i resolve this error...also i noticed that there is no sound when ever i try to play any audio or video file..had gone to the "sound" from the control panel an dwhen i tried to play the test tones it says "failed to play test tones"

ataport.sys had an update july 2010. You may already have it. But I would search that file for vista & your SP, and also go to MS Site for updates.

Have you checked your ram with memtest?

thanks for the reply ...the problem was with the software SOLUTO that i had installed..it was a driver error..i had to reinstall the whole
