I had a Celeron 2.66GHz, my FPS doubled in games going up to just a 2.0GHz E4400, it's definitely worth an upgrade.

It will be like going from the blackest night ever with no lights for miles to staring at the sun from about 2 ft. away.

Far more than 2x the performance because of superior uarch and cache size.

Oh, and the obvious: 2x the cores :p.

Your graphics would be more VGA limited though.

Wait for the E8400 instead of getting the E6750. The E8400 is only $200-220, and will be far better (especially for OCing). It will be out on the 20th of this month =)

Does you motherboard support the new cpus? E8400?

Yes the difference is in light years! I also have a cely 2.66 and an e2160@3.4GHz

no it dont, think it only supports my cele 2.66, the socket isn't 775 I dont think

I just bought an e2160 to upgrade from a P4 3GHz and the jump was huge. My plan is to keep this chip for about 12-18 months and then by a Penryn quad core when the prices drop.
