I recently had one of my raptors in my raid 0 die on me.

So I took the opertunity for some upgrading. I bought 3 OCZ V2 60GB SSD and after much research that told me not to use the onboard raid in my case ICH9 on a P5K Deluxe.

I bought an Adaptec 2405 (it's actualy very hard to find stock of highpoint cards in the UK) after researching this as much as I could on the net.

So this was the plan and those of you in the know will probably spot the fault right away.

Install the Adaptec 2405 in the Black PCI Express port giving me four extra Sata ports to connect my 3 OCZ for Raid 0 Vista and VS2008 and the odd game.

When the raptor turns up rebuild the Raptor array on the onboard Raid and have that as a nice fast D Drive for other games.

So first problem can I only have on Raid Controller at a time?

Also alot of people are going on about how Fast Vista starts up its true is it much faster but the Adaptec Controller takes 15 seconds to post while it boots it's kernel so you haven't gained a thing in startup time.

When I install the Adaptec Controller the OnBoard Raid stops posting so I can't access it.

Then the problems really start.

If I install the Adaptec 2405 with OCZ SSD Raid 0. It runs OK but everybench mark HDTach, HDTune, ATTO tells me I'm getting 133Mb/sec read speed. :-(

However PCMark Vantage gives me 13523 score in the HDD suite not so bad.

If I install the 3 OCZ SSD Raid on the OnBoard Raid then HDTach and HDTune give me 150Mdb/sec and some terrible saw tooth profile.

ATTO however gives me over 400 Mb/sec

Yet PC Mark Vantage score for HDD has dropped to 10390.

Has anybody any ideas why I see such inconsistant results?

or why the Adaptec Card gives such poor performance?

133Mb/sec is almost exactly PCI max speed yet I have put it in the Black PCI-Express slot on the P5K. Am I supposed to configure it manualy?
