.. to make SLI cost effective? The stock Evga 320 is under $200 now.

I have an Evga 320 and my monitor is maxed at 1680x1050. I wonder - if the 320's fall any further (maybe down to $170 or $160) would grabbing one to SLI extend their lifecycles long enough to make it worthwhile?

Or is it best to just use the single 320 until it can't play games anymore, then upgrade to whatever gen is currently out.

I wouldn't buy card off of ebay and I don't see myself buying a new monitor for a long time.

I would defintiely grab one at 180 or 190 if it had 512MB of ram, but since crysis eats mine alive due to ram limitations i just dont see it happening

Are you still eligible for Step-Up? I went from a 320MB GTS to a 512 MB GT for $15 (shipping). One of the best decisions I've ever made as an enthusiast.

If you're ineligible for whatever reason then I'd wait for the 9 series to upgrade.

If you do decide to go the SLI route it wouldn't be all bad, but make damn sure your PSU is up to snuff.

No more step up. I bought it about 7-8 months ago.

I'm just thinking - I have one anyway; if the price keeps dropping SLI might be worth it.

I wouldn't have even thought about it when they were still over $250.

But I've also heard (and read) that 320 SLI is just about the worst route you can go.

I have an Antec NeoHe 550 W.

From the looks of it I don't think your Antec PSU can handle 2 GTS's in SLI. Maybe sell the GTS quickly before every company lowers their price and get yourself a 8800gt.

A NeohE 550 W can't handle 2 GTS 320s?

Wow. Of all the questions I had about this issue I sure didn't think PSU was one (It's rated pretty well overall on PSU lists).

I'll have to check it out I guess.

Sorry I was referring to a different model. Yes I'm very sure it can with 54 amps and efficiency near 85%. It's a solid PSU :)
