Hello,

I have an intel server mobo (se7525gp2) with up-to-date bios.
I have 2 SATA ports on the mobo, which are occupied by 2 SATA drives in a raid 0.

I want to add a 3rd SATA drive as storage (NOT as part of the raid).

Since I only have the 2 on-board SATA ports, I have added a PCI card that gives 2 more SATA ports.

The problem is, when I add my 3rd SATA drive to the newly added SATA port and start up the system, it no longer sees the 2 raid drives, only the new 3rd drive. Since there is no OS on this 3rd drive, it will not load into windows. If I remove the 3rd drive and restart, it will load once again as normal: recognizing teh 2 raid drives and loading the windows OS off the raid.

How can I get my computer to see all 3 drives correctly?

that sounds like one of 2 things...

1. The RAID is being detected and the boot priority is wrong.

2. The SATA card is interfering with the bootloader of the onboard controller.

the resolution for 1. is obviously to change the boot device...

the resolution for 2. is a bit more involved. first i would make sure the BIOS on the mainboard is up to date. If that fails check if there is an update for the SATA card. 3rd try a different port on the mainboard for the SATA card. 4th get a differnt SATA card.
