Currently I have a single 8800 GTS 640 mb card (not G92) and play at 1920 x 1200 all high settings in most games and it runs fine minus Crysis at 18 fps. Would it be worth it to buy a second GTS 640 for SLI and boost my frames or just wait for the next generation of nvidia cards possibly in February? For those out there with 2 high end cards in SLI I just wondered if its worth the money or not. I know you should always go with the best single card you can afford, just curious. Also I know the 8800 GT 512 mb beats my card in alot of reviews but I feel like I would be going backwards with that card with less memory for my resolution...Thanks for the input!

Turn the settings down a little and enjoy it. Really, you have an 8800, that's one of the best cards out now. I'd personally give it a while longer, see how the benchmarks look. Maybe even just leave that system alone for a year or so.
Yeah, seriously man, your card is great. I'm currently using a 7900GS and it's been great and I'm still debating upgrading to a HD 3870 or getting a Wii. Decisions decisions. Anyways, I'd wait for some benchmarks like everyone else here is saying and then make your choice.

LOL i am still gaming on a 9700pro and find it ok your card is top of the range you could easily use that for years
But what do you find it okay for? I have a Radeon 9800 Pro in my closet and I stopped using it when the AGP board died. I wouldn't play Crysis on the 7600GS I gave a friend so he'd have decent WoW framerates (well, I wouldn't play Crysis anyways because I don't like first person shooters -- but I can't wait for a DX10 first person CRPG).
A 9700 Pro is fine for old games, productivity and surfing the net, but it's not fine for games that tax single 8800GT or 3870 cards. That's why he was asking about the benefits of SLI.
depends on your budget, if money is no object to you, wait till Feb? and get the 9800GX2, or 3870X2...i am gaming on my old trusty x700pro that i over clocked a little bit and i run almost every game at medium settings, considering how old my card is, i'd say thats pretty good, so considering you have a 8800, unless you have money to waste dont.
