I have built my last computer 5 years ago and then switched to laptops. Just today my main laptop died and because I'm just launching my own company I really need a decent computer to work on as soon as possible. Because I mostly work at home and have another Macbook when I want to travel I decided to go for a desktop again.
I saw how most people post a suggestion but I really have no idea of what's good right now. I stopped following hardware 4 years ago. Anyway I do know for what I will use my computer and some things that it should have. So please forgive me that I don't come up with a decent proposal.
My budget for the system and a good 19" monitor is 1000$
Usage: The most "intense" thing I plan to do is retouching pictures (no file is bigger than 100mb). So it doesn't have to be a crazy power rig for gaming or anything like that. I think it would be important to make it easy to upgrade in a year for example and a hard drive of 320 gb would be great. The 19" monitor should be somehow "eye friendly" if possible and if some technology that makes it more "eye friendly" exists because I work a lot online and have to sit in front of the computer for several hours every day. I don't want to overclock the system.
I'm also playing with the idea to get a second monitor as well. Do I have to consider buying a different gfx card because of that?
Any recommendations would be great!
