Hi All, for some reason I have idle temps of 45, 41, 39, 40 C in realtemp, I tested the sensors using realtemp, and one sensor is hardly moving. Load temps are 62, 60, 60, 60. This is running on stock settings, as I'm still checking if everything is stable at stock settings. Should I RMA it for the faulty sensor?

System Specs:
Antec P182
DVD-RW LS LG SATA
Rampage Formula
Q9450
WD640
4GB G.Skill 1066 Ram
Crappy Video Card (8500GT), my 9800 GTX hasn't come in yet
Heatsink would be the TRUE, waiting for it to come in.

Right now my temps for my Q9450 OC'd to 3.0ghz is 36 35 33 36 with Xigmatek HDTS1283 in an NZXT Apollo case. Your temps have a little wider range than mine, but seems well within the limits.

I have a q9450 and I also get a difference of about 5 - 6 degrees over the cores. All your cores temps go up when under load so I do not think there is an issue with you proccesor. I have an ThermalRight Ultra 120 extreme so I idle between 27 and 33 degrees and I am around 44 - 48 degrees under load. A new heat sink will make a big difference.

I'm waiting for the TRUE to come in, hopefully its just a heatsink problem not a temp sensor issue. It just seems that core 0 (1st temp) seems to reach higher temps than the other cores.

It's normal for 1-2 cores to be hotter than the rest. If you get a TRUE, you'll get even better results by lapping it.

TRUE = ThermalRight Ultra 120 Extreme. Regarded to many OCer as the best air-cooling solution out there once lapped.

the stock fan is really crappy, im using the stock fan that i had for the q6600 on this one, and those were the temps, if you use the new stock fan included with the cpu, it gets over 70 easily with small ffts.

stock fans are allways usly crappy even a 30$ cpu fan can be better.

Just got the TRUE and the 9800 GTX came in (got a deal for it so what the heck) :). But I think I have the worst VID for the Q9450, VID=1.25v . Trying to overclock to 3.6 ghz. Lets see what this baby can do.

lol thats my VID too, but it overclocks so much better than my first 9450 that had a low VID so I'm not complaining. Temps vary on both chips I have had personal experience with, first chip one core was consistently hotter than the rest, and this chip core 1 is ca. 4 degrees cooler than core 0 and ca. 8 degrees cooler than cores 2 and 3.
