A review I read recommended running the Patriot memory at stock speeds--it gave the best performance. The max OC 1024 5-5-5-18 at 2.35v results didn't provide enough performance increase to warrant running the memory at the high volts/speed.
How important is memory timings and do the stated memory timings for a kit bear any relationship to the memory's ability to OC? I would like to push the E8400 as fast a possible on air and do not want to find out the memory I choose is limiting the amount I can OC.
I've searched around the net and haven't found that much info/reviews relating to 4GB kits. The current prices are too good to pass up. Any suggestions??
Patriot 2x2gb should easily OC to that level. That's only a 90mhz overclock on the memory. Timings aren't very important, I would concentrate on making a stable 1:1 ratio with the processor first.
