Could anyone please tell me if the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB) will work straight out of the box with the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P mobo?

Depends what board revision you get i would say. If you get Rev2.1 then it should work as there is only the F8 and F9 Bios versions available. BTW F9 bios is needed for e8400 support
