I've got a Xion Onyx case, E8400, and Hyper TX2 CPU fan.

The Hyper has gotten excellent reviews of Tom's and that was one reason I bought it. However my E8400 @ 3.6GHz (no voltage change at all) is running up near

70 on load and idling at 60. This is with Arctic Silver 5..... I've pushed the cooler to make sure of no loose pins, but this seems abnormally high.

Alright, I see.... Stock clocked auto-voltage puts my voltage at 1.192, at 3.6 it puts it at 1.312. I've reset the cooler once, I may try again soon. At first I thought it was because the fan was blowing the wrong way, but I fixed that and the temps are still the same.

Reduce your vcore. Auto always overvolts, so set it manually. You yourself will have to find the minimal vcore to run at 3.6GHz since all E8400 are different.

Check your temps using Real Temp if you haven't. It's much more accurate on the 45nm cpus.

Thanks for the help. At 1.2 Vcore an everything set on NOT auto... sturdy for now temps idle are below 60 C now.. thanks!

Errrrr... these temps were taken with Ntune's ESA tools. This does not look good for the future of ESA. Both Real Temp and Speedfan reported 41-42 temps, Ntune said temps were 56-60 at the same time.
