Configuring 3 hard drives for optimum Photoshop performance

Bought a desktop with core 2 quad & 3gb ram. I am thinking of using one 150gb Raptor for OS & Photshop CS3 programs. One 150gb Raptor for a Photshop scratch disk and a 500gb for photo files.

Is this the best way to get the best performance without throwing more money at this?

I would put the OS & programs on the 500Gb and RAID 0 the Raptors for data and swap file.
