I'm actually new to GSM [only] phones coming from AMPS capable phones (I
used to send the occasional fax in AMPS mode). I'm trying to make it
possible to send the occasional fax using my cell phone (Motorola
V505/V551). As I understand it, CSD must be provisioned, but aside from
that, has anybody been able to have the computer dial a number using the
cell phone over bluetooth (Windows XP or Linux)? I can connect the
phone to computer via bluetooth and exchange files, however I am unable
to link the phone as a device capable of dialing.

Any thought on this?

Not sure about Cingular but AT&T's system has never supported sending faxes
with a phone regardless of the phones capabilities.
